Weinan Research & Promotion Center for High Resistance Paulownia is a professional organization in China engaged in the research and cultivation of paulownia. Our powerful and specialized team undertakes cultivation research and fine variety promotion for key scientific accomplishments on paulownia at state, province and city levels.
The center has undertaken on-site designing, planning and technical guidance for paulownia afforestation in many areas of China and in a number of foreign countries. Over decades of field and laboratory work, we have built a complete, practical body of cultivation knowledge — from land selection to harvest.
What makes Shaanxi paulownia special
- Fast growth: annual diameter growth at breast height of 4–10 cm; commercial harvest in as little as 6–10 years.
- Fine timber: light (~300 kg/m³), strong, warp-resistant wood that peels to veneer as thin as 1/32 inch and trades above oak and beech in international markets.
- Proven technology: mature techniques for soil evaluation, planting density, fertilization, pruning, and pest and disease control — validated across large plantation areas.
- Non-invasive hybrids: our Shan Tong varieties cannot reproduce by seed flight; reproduction is only possible asexually, keeping plantations ecologically safe.
What we do today
Our current focus is exporting paulownia cultivation and plantation technology: technical consultation, plantation design, soil and site evaluation, guided fertilization programs, pest control and training for plantation teams. Whether you are evaluating land for a new project or improving an existing stand, we can help.
